What is included in the price?

While you may find the Pika Warp unit for slightly less elsewhere on the Internet, please bear in mind what is included when you purchase from Smartvox. We supply units fully pre-configured with the FreePBX software and, before shipping to you, we localise the telephony settings for the UK, replace the voicemail system prompts with ones recorded in an English accent (unless you like the default American prompts of course), format and configure the SD card and install any hardware modules you order. We also test all units before shipping.

Provide us with details of your LAN and IP settings, and we'll even preset the network settings (including the custom NAT-related parameters) for you.

If you have any problems with a unit we have supplied, then we will provide telephone support and, depending on circumstances, may help you get started by remotely logging in to your unit.

Expansion Modules explained

The Smartvox-Pika Asterisk Appliance has two slots which accept proprietry telephony modules (made by Pika). Smartvox will normally supply units with one 4-port FXO module already installed. The PBX can accept one further module thus allowing it to be expanded to a total of 8 FXO ports. Alternatively, the second slot can be populated with a 4-port FXS module (see picture below) making a total of 5 FXS ports (one FXS port is included in the base unit). If no FXO ports are required then two 4-port FXS modules can be used to give a total of 9 FXS ports. Pika recently introduced a 2 port (4 channel) BRI module which supports point-to-point or point-to-multi-point connection. Smartvox will be happy to quote for supply and/or installation of BRI based systems.

The latest news from Pika is the introduction of a new GSM module capable of supporting 2 SIM cards. This will allow fantastic cost savings on office to mobile calls with the possibility of using inclusive bundled minutes from your existing mobile provider. The GSM module is currently in the final stages of testing and may already be available when you read this. Call for an update.
