Asterisk-based Business PBX Solutions:
Modern, future-proof and packed with outstanding features
Does your office phone system need upgrading and bringing into the 21st Century? Perhaps you are setting up in a brand new office and want a phone system that is flexible, modern and can be easily expanded as your business needs grow. You know that Voice over IP can save you money on call charges and it is undoubtedly the way forward, but perhaps you want to keep a few conventional telephony lines as a backup. An Asterisk-based phone system from Smartvox can deliver all the features and power of Voice over IP while retaining access to the PSTN over conventional telephone trunk lines too. This allows you to transition smoothly from your old PBX system with the option to add Voice over IP incrementally, matching channel capacity to available Internet bandwidth.
The great advantage of an
Asterisk-based PBX solution from Smartvox, is that you can select from a range of feature-packed
IP phones such as those from Aastra, Polycom, Snom and other manufacturers. All this plus a massive
range of options like voicemail, call queuing, conferencing, IVR menus, call distribution, timers,
conversation recording and CTI. |

SIP Proxy Servers:
|
SIP Proxy Servers explained
The SIP Proxy Server is a crucial component, especially in advanced enterprise or commercial
applications. It acts as the router for inbound and/or outbound VoIP calls while ensuring that
legitimate users have access and unauthorised users are locked out. Additional features may
include smart routing (possibly based on business logic applied through an external application
server), redirection of calls, forking, load balancing and NAT traversal for remote clients. |
SIP Proxy Solutions available from Smartvox
For advanced applications, Smartvox recommends SER or OpenSER based solutions. For less complex systems there is an optional proxy server available on Vegastream gateways. Asterisk is not a true SIP proxy server, but in many cases it can be configured to perform a similar function. We can help you decide which is best for your requirements and take you through from sketch design to finished solution. |
